Chemo and Wigs

In sixteen years of business, we have sold only one human hair wig to a customer undergoing chemotherapy. All others have purchased synthetic wigs with a monofilament top. The advantages of a synthetic wig over a human hair wig for chemo patients is simple: they are much easier to maintain. A synthetic wig can be washed with a mild shampoo in cold water and then rinsed thoroughly, again with cold water. Put the wig on a collapsible wig stand or shower head to dry and let it sit for a few hours until dry. Put it on and simply brush it into place. The monofilament top is a separate lining sewn into the wig cap and creates a comfortable barrier between the cap and the wearer's scalp. Synthetic wigs are also much less expensive.
